Meet The Coaches

Head Coach Stephen Pearce

 

Coach Pearce is a Wylie High School graduate.  He went on and played college football and basketball at Tulsa University and Collin College respectively.  Coach Pearce began his coaching career at Collin College where he was there for 3 years helping lead the Cougars to the Regional Tournament each year.  Eleven Collin players went on to play Division 1 basketball. 

From there, Pearce went on to coach for two seasons at Texas A&M University-Commerce.  The Lions qualified for the Conference Tournament each year.  Five players from those 2 teams went on to play professionally.

Coach Pearce just completed his 4^th season in high school basketball.  He has been an assistant for Coach David Black the last 3 seasons at Wylie High School.  The Pirates made the playoffs the last 2 seasons, and went on to win their first round game both years.

Assistant Coach Reggie Bibb

Coach Bibb will begin his first year with the Wylie Pirates this 2014 - 2015 school year.  He is a graduate of North Mesquite High School, and from there, he went on to play at Seminole State College in Seminole, OK and at Harding University in Searcy, AR.

He began his teaching and coaching career at Seminole State College, where he was the lead assistant for 3 years.  He then came to Wylie where he has worked at Burnett Junior High, Wylie East High School, and Smith Elementary school.

Coach Bibb is married to Alyssa Bibb, and they have two daughters, Alexa and London-Mila.

Assistant Coach Kendall Cogburn

Coach Cogburn is in his second year of coaching JV Basketball at Wylie High School, after coaching a year at Claude High School.

Coach Cogburn is a graduate of West Texas A&M University, where he played basketball.  He also teaches biology here at Wylie High School.

 

He is married to Kelly Cogburn and enjoys skiing and fishing in his spare time.
